NextEnergy Group was founded in 2007 to become a leading market participant in the international solar sector. Since its inception, it has been active in the development, construction, and ownership of solar assets across multiple jurisdictions. NextEnergy Group operates via its three business units: NextEnergy Capital (Investment Management), WiseEnergy (Operating Asset Management) and Starlight (Asset Development).
WiseEnergy® is NextEnergy Solar Funds operating asset manager. Once an asset is acquired it has a live span of over 30-40 years. It is critical that the assets are operational managed correctly. WiseEnergy is a leading specialist operating asset manager in the solar sector. Since its founding, WiseEnergy has provided solar asset management, monitoring and technical due diligence services to over 1,350 utility-scale solar power plants with an installed capacity in excess of 1.8GW.
Since 2007 the NextEnergy Group has developed over 100 utility-scale solar plants with an installed capacity in excess of 2GW, significantly contributing to global climate change mitigation. Starlight has been established to capture, consolidate and rapidly expand the Group’s renewable energy project development experience and presence. Development projects will mainly target greenfield and brownfield sites and Starlight is keen to work alongside local developers in its new jurisdictions. Further plans include energy storage, wind (both onshore and offshore) and green hydrogen projects.
NextEnergy Solar Funds investment manager, NextEnergy Capital, donates at least 5% of its net annual profits to the NextEnergy Foundation. The foundation is an international charity which was founded in 2016. Its Mission is to participate proactively in the global effort to reduce carbon emissions, provide clean power sources in regions where they are not yet available, and contribute to poverty alleviation.
